Chad Long, Attorney at Law
Chad was born and raised in Pulaski, Tennessee where he graduated from Giles County High School then attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In May 2000, Chad graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Communications (Public Relations, major; Finance, minor). Chad was an active member of Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity and continues his support as an alumni receiving various accolades for his involvement including Alumni of the Year Award from the Active Chapter and induction into the Torchbearer Society, the Alumni Chapter’s Highest Honor.
While pursuing his Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law, Chad met his beautiful and very supportive wife, Lauren, in February 2004. In 2006, Chad graduated and passed the Bar Exam. Chad began his private practice in October 2007 which began operations in his home from Hermitage and his subsequent move to Hendersonville in 2008. Chad later associated with Roger Sindle in August 2011 as Sindle & Long, An Association of Attorneys where they opened their office at the current 130 South Water Avenue address and expanded into the adjoining building in 2014. In 2018, Chad restructured his practice and associated with a friend and fraternity brother, Michael Taylor, and created Long & Taylor, An Association of Attorneys. Chad’s litigation practice includes custody, divorce, post-divorce, adoption, child support, juvenile and other areas of family law along with a probate practice including estate administration, conservatorships and guardianships. Chad also handles civil litigation, business consultation, simple estate planning, personal injury, wrongful death and criminal defense.
Chad has served on the Sumner County Bar Association Executive Council. From 2016 to 2019, Chad served as legal counsel for the Friends of Sumner Regional Medical Center, Inc. an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides outreach programs to patients and visitors. Through representing numerous clients in criminal matters, Chad has assisted individuals with substance abuse problems in seeking rehabilitation and recovery through the Sumner County Recovery Court. In 2015, Chad’s compassion to help individuals achieve recovery was heightened when he was asked to serve on the Recovery Court of Sumner County, Inc.’s foundation board. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that assists funding for the Recovery Court program and has grown to include an Intensive Outpatient Program, a Transitional Housing Program and many other programs that fulfill the needs of the Sumner County community. From 2016 to 2019, Chad was a member of Wilson Bank & Trust’s Community Council. Wilson Bank & Trust is a leading community bank dedicated to their customers and promoting their strong Christian faith.
Chad’s greatest joy and favorite pastime includes traveling and activities with his family. Chad and Lauren take great pride in their three children. From 2009 to 2019, the Long family was actively involved at Gallatin First United Methodist Church where Chad served as an usher and Stewardship Chairman (2012 – 2015), Finance committee member (2012-2019) and Staff Parish Relations Committee member (2015 – 2019; Chairman 2016 – 2019). The Long’s currently attend Long Hollow Church. Lauren is a sustaining member of Junior Service League of Gallatin (President, 2015 – 2016), involved with all aspects of the Long children’s scholastic and extracurricular activities, and a board member of Sumner County Young Life. You will often find Chad and Lauren transporting their children to dance lessons and competitions, soccer practices and tournaments, and basketball lessons, practices and tournaments.

From 2011-2017 Lt. Col. Roger A. Sindle (USAF Ret.) and Chad associated together at the current location. Mr. Sindle was a crucial factor in the formative years of Chad’s private practice. Mr. Sindle was a mentor, colleague and friend. Though Mr. Sindle passed on March 19, 2022, his impact and lessons will never be forgotten.
